Radio Ministry: Hearing the Word

We host/support five broadcasts throughout the week, 1/2 hour each. Pray for Muslims, those steeped in witchcraft, and those bound in empty religiosity, to hear the truth and trust Christ by faith. Pray for the message of God’s grace to extend further and further. Pray for the encouragement and growth of believers. Pray for the Word to be preached and taught faithfully, continued favor with radio personnel, and for listeners to come out for future gatherings (specifically the Reformation Bible Meetings).

Evangelism: #letmeintroduceyou

Pray for the Lord to kindly give many conversations and opportunities for gospel presentation. We desire that all our talks and interactions point people to the reality of Christ the Savior. Pray for tract distribution, marketplace conversations, and long term evangelistic efforts with friends as we are a living testimony before them, faithful to share consistently. Pray for neighbors we have already shared with, that God would give them a new heart, opening blind eyes to see!

Discipleship: Young Men’s Group

Please pray for the young men from the Dinka, Lugbara, and Alur tribes, and a few others who come for regular discipleship. Pray for their ongoing growth in the Scriptures and in living the faith they profess. Pray for them to keep in step with the Holy Spirit. Pray for sanctification in each of us, strength against trials and temptations, and joy in reaching out to family members, friends, neighbors, and classmates. Pray for others they are discipling, and that God would use us, weak as we are.

South Sudan: Cross Training

Please pray for believers in the small village we love to serve whenever possible. Pray for God’s grace through all challenges, and specifically for provision where the door has more recently been closed. Please pray for the sweet and devoted brothers and sisters in this remote place, to know the love of God and the prayers of the Church for them. Pray for discipleship and outreach to carry on, despite obstacles, for the glory of God and Kingdom advance. Pray for the local missionaries who go out to the unreached in great faith and perseverance.

Local Churches

Pray for God to save more lost people and for the leaders to carry on faithfully discipling. Pray for commitment among members and wisdom in decision making. Pray the Lord would lead those from darkness to the light as they reach out with the gospel of grace, the message of the crucified Savior, our rescuer, our risen redeemer. Pray for more faithful church plants which require faithful, biblical leadership. Pray for the Lord’s guidance as we seek what he has for our area when we return from our visit to the States. It is our longing and earnest prayer that God would bring a formal church from our regular discipleship gatherings. Pray for all to be done to the glory of God.

Prison Ministry: Diguna

Pray for the men and women who have come to know Christ while in prison, those who knew the Lord yet committed crimes, along with those facing accusations and having no court date. Pray for the gatherings of believers within the prison to be saturated with the Scriptures and for God’s glory. Pray for a move of witnessing to fellow inmates and that many more would come to faith through the difficult circumstances of life. We are so grateful for the German ministry of Diguna that allows us to partner with them as able. So many sweet friendships. Pray for fortitude among these brothers and sisters laboring and those being ministered to in situations which are hard to fathom. Please pray especially for the mothers with babies in the prison.

Literature Distribution: Reading & Discipleship Resources

Pray for church leaders to love reading God’s Word and studying and preparing before sharing. Pray for the gospel and the message of the Bible to be shared in the power of the Spirit, rather than man’s ideas, myths, folklore, manipulation, selfish purposes, and all else. Pray for those who have received books and tracts and Bibles to not let them sit idle but to grow in the knowledge of God, spiritual wisdom, understanding, Christian worldview, faithfulness, thankfulness, and service in love to the glory of God.

Children’s Ministry: Mvara Side

Pray for the young people to continue hearing the truth and delighting in the things of God in an environment with much distraction. Pray for the Lord to sustain these young people and to call to mind what they have received and learned. Pray for the Word to dwell richly in them and to bear good fruit.

Studies: Africa Reformation Theological Seminary

Please pray for me as I labor to learn at school, when the opportunity is there. Pray for me to be a faithful student and classmate, motivated by the Holy Spirit and the desire to understand more personally and preach and teach more precisely. Pray for the Lord to grow my faith and my earnest desire to serve and see the gospel go forth. Pray for classmates, professors, all the staff, and the future of the institution. Pray for the students who will return to many nations to carry out the ministry of the Word. Pray for local churches to be built up in truth, love, and joy.

USA Journey

We will be traveling this upcoming week for the United States. Visits will include churches in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, and our lovely home state of North Carolina. Pray that the Lord would use the testimonies and Scripture shared, the joys and challenges communicated, to increase our unity on mission with local churches, families, and individuals. Pray for our faithfulness and endurance and rest, and good times with our sending church, supporting churches, family, and close friends. Pray for many safe miles on the road and for sweet Alma as she meets many people new to her, but who already love her.
