Here I am, back in the Puerto Rican office with AC and my classic laptop from senior year of high school. Can you believe I am typing for the second day in a row? Incredible. So, what brought me back to the keyboard? This. As you may know, or may not know, I backpacked through Europe for about 8 weeks. I stayed in the homes of strangers, met with college students and families, had coffee with anyone who would sit down, provided for needs when able, and spoke with people in the streets: tourists and locals alike.
The goal of the trip was not to see monuments. The goal was to converse.
The goal was to encounter whoever God put in my path. The goal was to represent Jesus well. The goal was to share my perspective, a perspective that is not the most common in some of the places I traveled. The goal was to pray for the people I met: before I met them, while with them, and after leaving.
I met an awesome new friend while in Germany. We have maintained contact over the last month. I received the greatest blessing from this European adventure today. This blessing came in the form of a text.
Hey Greg,
I can only thank God you came into my life. Your words are often on my mind. You brought me back to my belief. I am in the church right now. I really hope He will forgive my mistakes and that I lost faith and belief. I thought I was not allowed to be happy and maybe I blamed Him. But He is giving me all the strength I need. I will come to this church in my neighborhood more often. Now I need to find my roots. I lost them, and I was really on a bad path. He brought you into my life to help point me back to my love for Him. You don’t know what you did for me. Now I believe in Jesus.
Thank God, from whom all blessings flow. Thank you guys, for praying for me during my travels, and for the amazing people God would allow me to meet. Thank those of you who supported me financially.
This is reason to rejoice. What a God we serve.
